My teaching is based on the philosophy that a solid foundation in the basics of trumpet playing allow us to enjoy creating music. Lessons always cover the fundamentals and music that the student is currently working on, but we also go beyond the basics into the tricks and tips that the professionals use every day. Mistakes are welcome as they provide an opportunity to see what can go wrong and how to fix it, as well as extra experience in a supportive environment.

I offer one-on-one instruction for those who want to experience a dramatic improvement in their playing with regular lessons and a personalized curriculum, or for those who may only have a specific project or concern.

Lessons are offered in 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions depending on the student’s age or ability level. Lessons are held at my home studio in Howell, Michigan, unless otherwise arranged. Please contact me for current rates.
